Mr. Praveen Hiremath

Executive Vice President and Product Head (Agribusiness)

• Praveen Hiremath is currently the Executive Vice President and Product Head (Agribusiness) at NeML and is a founding member for the Company and the NCDEX Group. He has close to 20 year's of cross industry domain expertise in agribusiness and related sectors, vast elaborate knowledge of over a decade in the wide array of physical commodities markets, agricultural ecosystem and commodity derivatives segment. He is an engineering graduate from Marathwada Agricultural University having done his B.Tech in Food Sciences and thereafter pursued his Post Graduate degree in Management studies from (MANAGE), Hyderabad in Agribusiness Management. He is also an alumnus of Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Ahmedabad and Indian School of Business (ISB), Hyderabad in the "Leadership Development" stream.
• Prior to being associated with NeML from May 2008, he had successful stints with Industry leaders Dow Agrochemicals, Mahyco Seeds and NCDEX.
• Praveen started his professional career in 2002 with an agricultural input industry Mahyco Seeds Ltd as a management trainee and worked extensively on formulation of innovative marketing strategies for various hybrid crops like Wheat, Jowar, desi cotton and genetic crops like revolutionary BT cotton across pan India. In Dow Chemicals, he was largely instrumental in establishing and achieving penetration of Dow products, identification of new business on new crops, framing various promotional schemes and building new markets, implementing sales distribution channel management practices by working closely with the farming community in rural areas.
• At NCDEX, he was largely involved in product designing for agri commodities, formalizing and responsible for business expansion of commodity derivatives market in India.
• Some of the key notable accomplishments has been in the strategy formulation and overseeing the introduction of BT cotton technology in India, launching of derivative products in southern region and instrumental in setting up delivery based NCDEX e markets Ltd (NeML) marketplace for agricultural commodities since inception.
• In NeML, Praveen is a part of the product and business group handling the key portfolio of business units and serving as a vital interface between various institutions, trading fraternity and other ecosystem partners. He has been involved in its journey of taking the organization to profitability right from the beginning, scaling up and successfully building up a strong brand value, which NeML commands today in the market. An enriching experience of more than a decade in the field of commodity markets across various dimensions from derivatives to physicals markets brings in the much needed rich understanding, proficiency and familiarity of the markets.
• An extremely avid sports person, having represented in various indoor and outdoor sports at University levels forTable Tennis, Cricket and Hockey.
