After the success of Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister also launched Unified Market Platform on 13th October 2015 with the tripartite agreement between NeML, ReMS and Andhra Pradesh Government.
In the initial Phase 10 Agricultural Markets Committees have been identified (Adoni, Yemmigannur, Kurnool, Kadapa, Hindupur, Kalyandurg, Guntur, Duggirala, Eluru & Anakapalle) in Andhra Pradesh, 7 markets are already LIVE and running. Presently they are following Gate Entry stage to Traders Participation, Weighing of the commodity, Takpatti (Invoice for Farmer) generation and Gate Exit stage. They will also start Market Cess updation and E-Permits generation in the system.
This will be the first time we would be experimenting on Perishable commodities on this platform, which we never tried in Karnataka too. Commodities traded in Andhra Pradesh are Chillies, Cotton, Groundnut, Castor, Soyabean, Turmeric, Lemon, Jaggery etc.
There are total 190 Agricultural Market Committees (AMC's) in Andhra Pradesh for Perishable and Non-Perishable Commodities, out of which only 50 markets are regulated(Means where Farmer get his produce for sale). Andhra Pradesh Government is planning to add 30 more markets to the previous list of 10 markets, and they want to get these markets implemented in Warehouse based model.
